The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has responded to statements by Polish security services regarding the involvement of two Ukrainian citizens in sabotage on Poland’s railway infrastructure. The MFA condemned these actions and stressed that Russia is waging a hybrid war against Europe, using individuals with Ukrainian documents in its operations.
The Ukrainian MFA stated that it has taken note of the findings published by Polish security services identifying two Ukrainian citizens suspected by Polish investigators of sabotage on railway facilities between 15 and 17 November. This is stated in the ministry’s official comment.
The MFA strongly condemned the attacks and highlighted the cynicism of Russia’s actions, noting that the aggressor state deliberately recruits and uses people with Ukrainian passports for hybrid operations, sabotage and crimes aimed at destabilisation. The ministry stressed that Ukraine’s partners clearly understand that the source of such sabotage is the Russian Federation itself.
According to the MFA, the events in Poland once again confirm that alongside its war against Ukraine, Russia is waging a full-scale hybrid war against Europe and Ukraine’s allies, attempting to break international unity and destabilise the situation.
Ukraine reaffirmed its readiness to provide all necessary assistance to Polish authorities and the relevant services of allied states to establish all circumstances of the incident, hold those responsible to account and develop joint preventive mechanisms to counter such criminal activities in the future.
The MFA emphasised that Ukraine remains committed to close coordination with Poland and other allied countries in countering Russian hybrid aggression and strengthening collective security.
