Men’s mass start in Ruhpolding: Ukrainians outside the TOP-20

On Sunday, January 19, the men’s mass start of the fifth stage of the Biathlon World Cup of the 2024/25 season ended in Ruhpolding. Ukraine was represented in this race by Dmytro Pidruchnyi and Vitalii Mandzyn.

Podruchnyi showed the best result among Ukrainians, taking 21st place. Vitalii Mandzyn finished 25th. Both athletes had four laps of penalty due to missed shots.

The winner of the race was Italian Tommaso Giacomel, who showed excellent shooting and speed. The second and third places went to the Norwegians Sturla Legreid and Johannes Bøgh, respectively.

Today’s stage in Ruhpolding will be completed by the women’s mass start, in which Yulia Dzhyma will compete for Ukraine. The race is scheduled to start at 16:00 Kyiv time.

The next stage of the World Cup will be held in Antholz-Anterselva, Italy, from January 23 to 26.
