Russian monitoring and news channels are reporting a massive drone attack on annexed Crimea, Krasnodar Krai, Rostov, Voronezh and other regions of Russia. According to the Russian military department, 85 drones were allegedly destroyed overnight.

Of the total number of drones, 31 were shot down over the Black Sea, 16 over the Voronezh region and Krasnodar Krai, 14 over the Sea of Azov, four over the Belgorod region, and two over the Tambov region. One drone was also intercepted each over Crimea and the Kursk region.

Situation on the ground

Air-raid sirens have been switched on in Anapa and Novorossiysk, located on the Black Sea coast of Krasnodar Krai. Residents of these cities report the work of air defence systems. About the consequences of the raid so far there is no reliable information. Recall, Novorossiysk is the main Russian commercial port on the Black Sea, and in the area of Anapa goes out to sea gas pipeline ‘Turkish Stream’.

In the Voronezh region, the governor said that several drones had been shot down over the region’s territory. The danger of strikes remains high, as local authorities warned. From the Kursk region, there are reports of explosions over the regional centre.

In the Tambov region, acting governor Yevgeny Pervyshov said two drones crashed into apartment blocks in the town of Kotovsk. According to him, the buildings received minor damage, there was no fire. Several people suffered from glass shards, they were treated. Telegram channels close to law enforcement agencies specify that there may be at least five people injured.

Crimea Bridge Closure

Traffic on the Crimean bridge is temporarily blocked. This is reported by a Russian Telegram channel specialising in monitoring the situation on the bridge and adjacent territories.

The situation remains tense, new incidents and details of the raid are reported in real time.
