French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will gather on Sunday, 17 August, at 13:00 GMT (15:00 Kyiv time) in a video conference format with the countries of the ‘coalition of the willing,’ allies of Kyiv, to prepare for the next stages of peace talks on Ukraine, the Elysée Palace announced on Saturday.
According to RFI, these consultations will take place on the eve of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to Washington.
Ukraine’s allies are expected to discuss at this meeting the security guarantees that will be provided to Kyiv as part of a possible peace agreement. According to diplomats, they are also expected to consider the possible contours of such an agreement between Ukraine and Russia.
