The criminals include private entrepreneurs who entered false data into the Shliakh system, as well as organisers of the illegal ‘business’ who ensured the transfer of men bypassing border checkpoints.
They also uncovered messenger administrators who accepted ‘orders’ from people seeking to travel abroad and centres producing fake documents on unfitness for military service.
Law enforcement officers conducted 270 searches, during which they seized
- documents, including medical certificates of recruits
- computer equipment,
- mobile phones,
- draft records,
- cash in foreign currency.
The investigation was conducted by migration police officers, investigators, cyber police, border guards and regional police units.
The defendants were served a notice of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – illegal transfer of persons across the state border. The article provides for up to 9 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property and disqualification to hold certain positions.
The investigation is ongoing.
