The death toll from Russia’s combined attack on Kyiv on July 6 has risen to 10. Another 46 people were injured, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported as of 8:00 a.m.






UPDATED: Later, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that the death toll from Russia’s overnight attack on the capital had risen to 11. According to medics, one of the wounded men died in hospital in the morning.
Forty-six people were injured, 27 of them were hospitalized. Three children are among those hospitalized.
Destruction and damage were recorded in four districts of Kyiv. The Podilskyi district suffered the most. Residential high-rise buildings were also hit in the Darnytskyi district.
Rescuers and medics continue working in the buildings that were hit. Emergency crews are also dealing with the aftermath of the attack in the Obolonskyi and Holosiivskyi districts.
According to prosecutors, Russia once again struck residential buildings in the capital. The final number of those killed and injured is still being established, and rescue operations are ongoing.
The main impact sites and debris falls were recorded in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi and Podilskyi districts. Damage was also reported in the Holosiivskyi and Obolonskyi districts.
In the Podilskyi district, apartments from the 5th to the 9th floors were destroyed in one of the buildings.
In the Darnytskyi district, the attack caused a fire and destroyed apartments from the 2nd to the 5th floors of a 25-story building. Debris also set apartments on fire in a 30-story high-rise in another residential complex.
Under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into another war crime committed by Russian forces that resulted in civilian deaths.
The case was opened under Part 2 of Article 438 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code — violation of the laws and customs of war combined with intentional killing.
