The Kremlin said it is currently difficult to talk about resuming the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine. In the future, according to Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, this will depend on buyers’ willingness and sellers’ ability to supply gas.

        This was reported by TASS.

Peskov said the issue of possible Russian gas transit through Ukraine in the future would depend on demand from buyers and the capabilities of sellers.

At the same time, he noted that it is currently difficult to talk about resuming supplies via this route.

Separately, the Kremlin spokesman said Moscow “highly values” the level of coordination between the Russian and Ukrainian ombudsmen. He also expressed gratitude to the United States and personally to First Lady Melania Trump for assistance with the humanitarian operation in Oleshky.

According to Peskov, there are currently no plans or initiatives for another humanitarian operation similar to the one in Oleshky.

        Kremlin prepares for Putin-Xi meeting

Peskov also said preparations are underway for a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the APEC summit.

According to him, Moscow is looking forward to the talks, while Putin’s program at the summit is still being prepared.

At the same time, there are currently no specific details about a possible trilateral meeting between Putin, Xi and US President Donald Trump at the summit.

Peskov said Russia and China have a “huge volume of cooperation” and that during their meetings Putin and Xi traditionally review bilateral relations and discuss the international situation.

The Kremlin spokesman also said that, in Moscow’s view, the centers of global economic growth are not in Europe but in the so-called Global South.

Commenting on the possibility of Russia joining the Organization of Turkic States, Peskov said Moscow had not yet received an official invitation. At the same time, he said he considers Russia’s participation in the organization appropriate.

Regarding the US elections, Peskov said the Kremlin, like the rest of the world, is following them, but described the electoral process as an internal matter of the United States.

Kremlin says it faces daily cyberattacks

Peskov also commented on the threat of cyberattacks, saying it is growing and that Russian government agencies should strengthen the protection of their resources.

According to him, the Russian presidential website is subjected to numerous hacking attacks every day.

Earlier, “Glavnoe in Ukraine” reported that the United States was promoting the idea of resuming the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine as part of a broader energy plan, while the proposal faced opposition in Europe.

Peskov had also previously said that the current situation “on the ground” did not allow plans to resume Russian gas transit through Ukraine to be implemented.
