A meeting of the commission on technological and environmental safety and emergencies was held in Kyiv with the participation of all city departments, services, deputy heads of the Kyiv City State Administration, and district leaders. This was announced by Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

According to him, the situation in the capital remains extremely difficult and is unprecedented in the entire history of the full-scale war. During the meeting, the most pressing issues and further actions to stabilise the situation and help residents were discussed, as well as specific tasks for each service and department.

As of today, about 400 high-rise buildings in Kyiv remain without heating. This is part of more than 6,000 buildings that were left without heat after the massive attack on 9 January. Some of these buildings are expected to have heat by the evening.

Utility services are working around the clock to repair infrastructure damaged by enemy strikes in order to restore essential services to residents as quickly as possible. According to the mayor, the heating supply situation on the right bank of the city is already more stable, while on the left bank it remains more complicated.

The most problematic situation remains the electricity supply, on which the entire municipal infrastructure depends. Currently, Kyiv is operating on emergency power cut schedules, with hourly schedules not being applied.

According to information from DTEK, residents of the capital have electricity for an average of about three hours, while they can be without power for up to ten hours or more. The duration of power cuts may vary due to the emergency mode of operation of the damaged power system, weather conditions and network overload.

Vitali Klitschko stressed that emergency power cuts will continue and that this must be communicated openly so that residents understand the real situation.
