In April, Kharkiv suffered the most powerful shelling since the beginning of the full-scale war. This was reported by the mayor, Ihor Terekhov.
According to him, last month was a record not only in terms of the number of attacks, but also in terms of the scale of destruction. In the city, 533 buildings were damaged — roofs, facades, and thousands of windows were broken.
‘A total of 10,533 windows were broken — in apartments, stairwells, and on balconies. This is an unprecedented figure,’ the mayor said. According to him, more than 90% of them — 9,830 — have been temporarily closed. However, complete glazing has not yet been carried out, and winter is just around the corner, so this is the main challenge for the city.
Roofs have also suffered significant damage: 147 roofs have been damaged, 109 of which are still under repair.
Terekhov stressed that utility services are working around the clock and thanked the volunteers who are helping to clean up the aftermath of the Russian shelling.
