The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has published data on the Russian jet-powered UAV Geran-3 on the War&Sanctions portal as part of a series of publications entitled “Weapons of Destruction” on the War&Sanctions portal.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, the Geran-3 uses a Chinese Telefly JT80 turbojet engine, which provides a speed of approximately 300-370 km/h and an estimated operational range of up to 1,000 km. The drone usually reaches its maximum speed in areas covered by air defense and electronic warfare systems or during the terminal approach to the target.
The configuration of the drone’s modules and electronics largely replicates the gasoline versions of the Geran-2 “Ы” series.
At the same time, the GUR identified 45 foreign components in this UAV: approximately half are from American manufacturers; among others, there are eight Chinese, seven Swiss, three German, two British, and one Japanese component.
