On the night of August 28, Russian troops carried out another combined attack on Kyiv. As a result, four people were killed, including two children. More than 20 people are known to have been wounded.
This was reported by Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
According to Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, the Russian military used strike UAVs and various types of missiles to shell the capital.
The consequences of the attack have been recorded in more than 20 locations in the Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Holosiivskyi, Obolonskyi, and Desnianskyi districts.
Residential buildings in the Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts were the most affected.
In the Darnytskyi district, the Russians destroyed part of a five-story building with a direct hit. A rescue operation is underway at the site, with people being searched for under the rubble. A 9-story and a 16-story residential building, a private house, a parking lot, and a kindergarten were damaged.
In the Dniprovskyi district, a 25-story building was damaged when a drone hit a courtyard next to a nine-story building. Dozens of cars were on fire in several locations.
In the Solomyanskyi district, a private residential building was on fire, but the fire has now been localized.
The Shevchenkivskyi district was also severely affected. Several non-residential buildings, offices, and cars belonging to ordinary Kyiv residents were damaged. According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, a shopping center in the center of the capital was hit.
In the Holosiivskyi district, the attack caused fires in several locations and damaged windows in more than ten buildings.
“Among the dead is a 14-year-old girl. At least five children, aged 7 to 17, are among the victims. New information is constantly coming in,” Tkachenko wrote.
