On December 25, the State Bureau of Investigation detained the former head of the Odesa Regional TCC and JV in Kyiv after he was released on bail in the amount of UAH 39.364 million. The court also ruled to transfer the suspect’s real estate in Italy to the management of the ARMA.

This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation.

The SBI received information that after leaving the detention center, the former official planned to hide from the investigation, in particular, to go abroad. The detention took place in Kyiv, where he was notified of suspicion of committing new criminal offenses, in particular, of organizing obstruction of the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a special period and of drawing up false official documents.

According to the investigation, the ex-official organized the registration of an injury that he received off-duty as an injury related to the defense of Ukraine and received illegal remuneration in the amount of UAH 165,480 for the period from April to June 2022.

In addition, the SBI is investigating another case of money laundering. As part of this case, the court decided to transfer to the ARMA a house of 857 square meters, valued at EUR 4 million, and an office in Marbella worth EUR 510 thousand, which belonged to the mother and wife of a former military officer. Three cars were also transferred to ARMA, including a Mercedes-Benz EQV and a G 63 AMG, which belonged to the detainee’s relatives.

It was noted that two indictments had previously been filed against the former head of the TCC on the fact of acquiring assets worth more than UAH 142 million, which significantly exceeds his legal income, as well as for evasion of service and the use of forged documents. On all charges, he faces imprisonment for up to 10 years.
