As a result of the overnight combined Russian attack on Kyiv on September 8, two people were killed and the number of injured rose to 16. More than fifty sites were damaged, including residential buildings, a dormitory, school grounds, shops, gas stations and a flour production facility.
This was reported by Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi.
Damage was recorded in many districts of the capital. Two people were killed in the Solomianskyi district.
“Explosions in Kyiv lasted nearly five hours. Rescuers and police officers were helping civilians at the sites of the attacks from the first minutes. Thirteen people were rescued,” the Interior Ministry said.
People were evacuated from a blocked room in the Holosiivskyi district. State Emergency Service vehicles came under a repeated strike.
“More than 300 rescuers and police officers are still working in Kyiv. They are extinguishing fires and clearing rubble at seven locations,” the statement said.
