On the morning of November 8, a bridge over the Mius River on the Novorossiya highway in Russia’s Rostov region was damaged following an aerial attack and falling drone debris. The highway connects Rostov-on-Don with Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine and annexed Crimea.
Rostov region Governor Yuri Slyusar reported the incident.
According to Slyusar, the bridge’s road surface was damaged at kilometer 97 of the R-280 Novorossiya highway in the Neklinovsky district.
In addition to the bridge, two crawler cranes were damaged. According to preliminary information, no injuries were reported.
“Traffic across the bridge has been organized in an alternating one-way system,” Slyusar said.
The R-280 Novorossiya highway provides a transport connection between Rostov-on-Don, Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine, and Crimea.
Earlier, drone attacks on fuel tankers traveling along this highway were cited as one of the causes of the fuel crisis in occupied Crimea in 2026.
