Drone attack on Kharkiv region: several injured and major fires reported

Overnight, Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on the city of Kharkiv and the surrounding region, targeting civilian infrastructure and causing fires and casualties.

According to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, eight strikes were recorded in the city—two in the Shevchenkivskyi district and six in the Kyivskyi district. One person was injured in the Kyivskyi district, and several residential buildings sustained damage. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, a vehicle service station was hit, damaging the building and several cars.

The State Emergency Service reported that in the Kyivskyi district, a fire broke out at a civilian facility, with a roof burning over an area of 250 square meters. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, drones ignited a garage and two vehicles on the premises of a local business. A separate missile strike in the village of Kovalenky in Kharkiv district caused a garage fire covering 30 square meters. No casualties were reported in this incident.

Regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said that the city of Izium also came under attack. Explosions were heard in the city, and a civilian enterprise was hit. Two men, aged 30 and 28, were injured as a result.

At least three people were injured in the overnight attack—two in Izium and a 43-year-old woman in Kharkiv.
