On the night of May 5, Ukraine deployed F-5 Flamingo cruise missiles as part of Operation Deep Strike against targets in Russia. In particular, strikes were carried out against military-industrial complex facilities in Cheboksary.

A video of the missile launch was released by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to him, “long-range strikes” continue in response to Russian attacks.

“Last night, combat launches of F-5 Flamingo cruise missiles took place as part of the Armed Forces’ Deep Strike operation against several enemy targets, specifically military-industrial complex facilities in Cheboksary,” he noted.

According to him, the Ukrainian “Flamingos” covered a distance of over 1,500 kilometers. The targeted facility manufactured relay protection systems, automation equipment, and low-voltage devices, and also supplied navigation components to the Russian Navy, the missile industry, aviation, and armored vehicles.

“Russia must end its war and move toward real diplomacy. We have made our proposal,” the president added.
