        Combined strike on Ukraine: what is known about the night shelling by the Russian Federation

        On the night of September 3, Russia launched another combined strike on Ukraine using strike drones and missiles. The western regions, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, and other regions were attacked. The shelling resulted in fires, damage to civilian infrastructure, and casualties.

        Consequences of the shelling

        • Lutsk. Explosions were heard in the city due to drone attacks. According to Mayor Ihor Polischuk, two garages and a farm building were burned down as a result of the shelling, and another was damaged by debris. A private truck was also burned down.
        • Khmelnytskyi. During the night and in the morning, the city was shelled by drones and, presumably, rockets. Mayor Oleksandr Symchyshyn reported damage and fires. No casualties were reported, but due to the consequences of the attack, public transport is operating intermittently and with fewer buses.
        • Kyiv region. Vyshhorod was hit by a massive drone attack. According to the head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk, debris fell between residential buildings, damaging a car and windows. A fire broke out, but it has already been extinguished. There were no casualties.
        • Kirovohrad region. In the Znamianka community, a drone attack caused destruction and injuries. According to the State Emergency Service, five local residents were wounded, 28 houses were damaged, and one was destroyed. Ukrzaliznytsia facilities were also damaged during the shelling. Four railway workers were injured, and more than 20 trains were delayed.

        Explosions were also heard in the Dnipropetrovsk, Volyn, Lviv, Sumy, Rivne, Ternopil, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
