On 7-8 June, another swap of prisoners of war may take place between Ukraine and Russia. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a briefing, Suspilne reports.
According to him, on 4 June, the parties held consultations on the exchange.
‘The Russian side has passed on information that this weekend it will be able to transfer 500 of our military out of the thousand we agreed on. That is, we will be ready to exchange the appropriate number,’ Zelenskyy said.
The President stressed that this time, Russia had promised to provide the lists in advance, but as of now, Ukraine has not yet received them.
He also commented on the situation with the transfer of the bodies of the dead. According to the head of state, Russia has stated that it has identified only 15-20% of the bodies. Ukrainian analysis confirms this data. In this regard, the parties decided to complete the exchange of prisoners first, and only then proceed to prepare the transfer of bodies – with clear identification.
