Another 307 Ukrainian soldiers have been released from Russian captivity as part of a large-scale 1,000-for-1,000 exchange agreed during negotiations in Turkey. This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on social media.
He recalled that this is the second day of the exchange, and a total of 697 defenders have been returned in two days. Among those who returned on 24 May are soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Border Service and the National Guard.
The President thanked everyone involved in the exchange process and working around the clock to make it happen. ‘Our goal is to bring back every single person from Russian captivity. We are continuing to work with our partners to make this possible,’ Zelenskyy said.
