Annual inflation in Ukraine rose to 12.9% in January 2025, up from 12% in December. At the same time, the monthly price growth rate slowed slightly to 1.2% compared to 1.4% in December.
According to the State Statistics Service, communication services were the most expensive: local telephone tariffs increased by 29.1%, and mobile tariffs by 15.6%.
Among food products, vegetables (+5.5% per month), oil (+2.8%), and bread (+2.1%) rose the most.
Vegetables, bread, oil, and butter were the leaders in price growth on an annualized basis, with their prices increasing by 20-34%.
At the same time, eggs continue to fall in price: in January, their price fell by 23%. Clothing and footwear also fell by 5.5%.
