Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris is one percent ahead of her Republican rival Donald Trump.

Reuters writes about it, citing data from a new Reuters/Ipsos poll.

It is noted that the poll showed a virtual tie between Harris and Trump before the US presidential election, which is scheduled for November 5. The statistical error was approximately 3%. A total of 1150 American adults were interviewed across the country, including 975 registered voters.

The new poll showed that Trump has significant advantages over Harris on several issues. In particular, when asked which of the two candidates has a better approach to the economy, unemployment and jobs, voters favored Trump by 47% and Harris by 37%.

Trump also gained an advantage over Harris (48% vs. 33%) on the issue of immigration, where he has put forward proposals that include mass illegal deportations of migrants.

The poll also showed that Harris’s advantage over Trump on the issue of political extremism is shrinking. About 40% of voters said she has a better approach to fighting political extremism and threats to democracy, compared to 38% who chose Trump.

About 89% of registered Democrats and 93% of registered Republicans in the poll said they were absolutely certain to vote.

Among the respondents to the latest poll who were most likely to vote, Harris also had a one percentage point lead over Trump – 47% to 46%.

It is noted that Harris has led Trump in every Reuters/Ipsos poll of registered voters since she entered the presidential race in July. However, since late September, her lead has been shrinking.

The previous Reuters/Ipsos poll, conducted on October 16-21, showed that US Vice President Kamala Harris was 2% ahead of Trump.
