On the morning of February 27, Russian troops struck a hotel in Sumy. While firefighters were extinguishing the blaze, a second attack was launched on the rescue workers.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
“Early in the morning, the Russians targeted a building in the center of Sumy with a strike UAV. After the first strike, the enemy treacherously launched a second strike when rescuers were already working at the site,” said Ihor Kalchenko, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
According to the State Emergency Service, none of the personnel were injured. Rescuers evacuated 50 citizens from the hotel building.
The fire has been extinguished.
