In his video address, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the decision to start humanitarian and security work aimed at stabilising the situation in Syria.

‘The calmer the situation in such regions, the more actively the world will be able to help us establish peace,’ Zelensky said, stressing the importance of international efforts to resolve conflicts.

Ukraine plans to contribute to preventing a food crisis in Syria, in particular through the humanitarian programme Grain from Ukraine. The President instructed the government to establish food supplies in cooperation with international organisations and partners.

Zelenskyy also called on the international community to unite to end the war that was fuelled by Russia and Iran in Syria more than a decade ago.
