Ukraine is expected to open two more negotiation clusters this week as part of its European Union accession process. The country plans to open all six clusters by the end of the year.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on October 13.
“Two clusters will open this week. Two were already opened in the summer, and we must open all six negotiation clusters by the end of the year. This is our plan. And this is a priority,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
The president described progress in EU accession negotiations as political and moral support for Ukrainians and proof that Ukraine’s European course is irreversible.
According to Zelenskyy, new support packages for Ukraine are also expected this week. He announced talks with the prime ministers of Denmark and Lithuania, as well as important negotiations in the United Kingdom.
The president also stressed ongoing efforts to secure full financial support for Ukraine and fulfill agreements with European partners. He added that parliament and the government are expected to adopt the necessary legislation and government decisions this week.
As a reminder, on October 12, European Union member states agreed to open the second and third negotiation clusters for Ukraine and Moldova — “Internal Market” and “Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth”.
