President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that the Kursk operation has successfully fulfilled its task of pulling Russian troops back from the Pokrovske, Kharkiv and Sumy directions.

The head of state said this during a meeting with journalists, Suspilne reports.

‘The situation is very difficult now. I can only thank our soldiers for this operation. It has fulfilled its task. At first, the pressure on the Kharkiv direction subsided, then they began to withdraw troops from the Eastern direction. I think that the situation in the Pokrovsk sector is now stable, and it will be very difficult for them to try to occupy Pokrovsk,’ Zelensky said.

Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that the information about the alleged ‘encirclement’ of Ukrainian units in the Kursk region was false.

Since the beginning of the day, 13 military clashes have been recorded in this area. The General Staff emphasises that there is no threat of encirclement of Ukrainian units.
