Official events were held in the capital to mark Ukraine’s Constitution Day. During his speech, President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasised that the main goal of the Ukrainian people is to preserve the country and freedom for millions of citizens who defend their rights every day not only by law, but also by their own actions and deeds.

The head of state recalled the stories of defenders, teachers, volunteers and medics who, in his words, embody the true power of the Constitution — the rights and freedoms for which Ukrainians are fighting even in the most difficult times of war.

The president thanked the soldiers who have been holding the front since 2014 and everyone who helps the army and civilians.

Zelenskyy separately thanked allies, in particular Polish President Andrzej Duda, who joined the events in Kyiv. He was awarded the Order of Freedom and was honoured on the Alley of Courage as a friend of Ukraine from the first days of the full-scale war.

‘We will achieve everything we strive for. For everyone for whom Ukraine is above all else,’ the President emphasised.
