President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy met with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), who is on a visit to Ukraine. During the talks, the parties discussed important programs to support Ukraine, in particular, assistance to internally displaced persons.

Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced this in his evening address on February 6.

The President emphasized the need to support Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes because of the war.

“We need to help these people get normal apartments or houses in a new place: this is the most important issue for millions of Ukrainian IDPs – their own home. And our partners definitely have the resources to help with this,” Zelenskiy said.

Minister of Finance Sergii Marchenko and Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine Oleksii Kuleba have been tasked with developing a program to support IDPs, which should be ready within the next two weeks.
