President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has outlined the outcomes of a high-level meeting with Ukraine’s top military leadership and Defence Minister, focusing on the situation along key front lines — including the Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, Zaporizhzhia regions, Kharkiv region, and border areas of Sumy.
According to Zelenskiy, Russia’s army has fallen far short of its goals for this summer offensive, with every attempted push being thwarted by the resilience of Ukrainian units and active defensive operations. He stressed that Ukrainian forces will continue to destroy occupying troops and are preparing new long-range strikes to push the war back onto Russian territory.
The President also made clear that Ukraine will respond harshly to every Russian attack on civilians. Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi reported on the targeted elimination of Russian troops involved in the killing of a one-year-old child in the Kherson region.
Zelenskiy further highlighted preparations for the upcoming visit of General Kellogg to Ukraine and ongoing cooperation with international partners on weapons supplies and expanding joint defence production. He noted that about 40% of Ukraine’s military needs are now met by domestic production — a share Kyiv plans to increase significantly to strengthen the country’s defence self-sufficiency. To achieve this, necessary regulatory, financial, and personnel changes will be implemented in the defence sector.
