In Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, the Finswimming World Cup stage is underway, where the Ukrainian national team has already earned its first medals. The news was reported by Champion.com.ua.
Veronika Vorobyova claimed the gold medal for Ukraine, winning the 800-meter race. The athlete improved on her result from last year — in 2024 she finished third in the same event.
Another success came from Sofia Hrechko, who took the bronze medal in the 50-meter distance.
Earlier this year, at the 2025 World Games, Sofia Hrechko won gold and set a world record in the 400-meter finswimming event.
The World Cup stage in Abu Dhabi will continue until November 3, featuring more than 400 athletes from various countries around the world.
