Ukraine’s Third Army Corps has officially confirmed that it is conducting the offensive Operation “Vivaldi” in the northern part of the Donetsk region. According to the corps, Ukrainian units liberated Serednie, cleared 75 square kilometers of territory of Russian infiltration groups, and de-occupied another 10 square kilometers.
This was reported by the Third Army Corps.
The corps said that, while maintaining operational secrecy, Ukrainian troops eliminated pockets of enemy infiltration in Novoselivka, Oleksandrivka, Yarova and on the outskirts of Korovyi Yar.
According to the Third Corps, the operation inflicted significant losses on units of Russia’s 20th and 25th armies.
At this stage of the operation, the corps estimates Russian losses at around 1,500 troops, more than 12,000 drones, as well as hundreds of armored vehicles, artillery systems and other vehicles.
Drone units also cut Russian logistics routes, according to the corps. The Third Corps said that after the strikes, Russian forces were forced to move fuel and lubricant supplies outside Ukraine, to Russia’s Voronezh region. The corps also reported the destruction of a pipeline and warehouses.
The operation involved the 60th and 66th Separate Mechanized Brigades, the 125th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade, a battalion tactical group of the 3rd Assault Brigade, the 21st Separate Unmanned Systems Regiment KRAKEN, the 3rd Separate Reconnaissance Battalion, the 25th Separate Anti-Tank Battalion, as well as units of Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, Defence Intelligence and the State Border Guard Service.
Commander of the Third Army Corps, Brigadier General Andrii Biletskyi, said Operation “Vivaldi” is only beginning.
“Vivaldi, as everyone knows, has four seasons. And this is only the first of them. So follow our official statements and don’t rush with the spoilers. There will be good news,” Biletskyi said.
