The 1240th day of Russia’s large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun. From July 16 to July 17, 160 battles took place at the front. In the Pokrovsk sector, 51 enemy attacks were repelled, and in the Liman and Novopavlivka sectors, the Armed Forces repelled 22 attacks each.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During the day, the invaders launched one missile and 78 air strikes on the territory of Ukraine, used two missiles and dropped 125 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they engaged 4,150 kamikaze drones and fired 5,662 times at Ukrainian positions and settlements, including 102 times from multiple launch rocket systems.
The aggressor carried out air strikes in the vicinity of populated areas:
- Obody, Sumy region;
- Dobropillia, Donetsk region;
- Bilohiria, Uspenivka, Novoandriivka, Plavni in Zaporizhzhia region;
- Kozatske in Kherson region.
North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions
Since the beginning of the day, Ukrainian troops repelled 21 occupants’ assault attacks in the North Slobozhansky and Kursk sectors. In addition, the enemy launched 13 air strikes, dropping 33 guided bombs, and fired 340 times at the positions of the Defense Forces and localities, including seven times from multiple launch rocket systems.
South Slobozhansky, Kupyansky, Lymansky and Seversky directions
In the South Slobozhansky sector, the enemy stormed Ukrainian positions 13 times in the areas of Vovchansk, Zelenyi, Stroyivka and towards Kudiyivka.
Three occupants’ attacks took place in the Kupyansk sector over the last day. Ukrainian defense forces repelled the enemy’s assault in the vicinity of Kindrashivka, Sinkivka and Zahryzove.
In the Liman sector, the enemy attacked 22 times, trying to advance near the settlements of Novoyehorivka, Novyi Mir, Nadiia, Karpivka, Kolodyazi, Yampolivka, Zelena Dolyna, Torske and towards Serebryanka.
In the Siversky sector, in the area of Hryhorivka and towards Vyymka, the enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces four times.
Kramatorsk, Toretsk and Pokrovsk sectors
Seven firefights were registered in the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy attacked in the area of Orikhovo-Vasylivka and in the direction of Bila Hora and Predtechyno.
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy carried out nine attacks in the areas of Shcherbynivka, Nelipivka, Toretsk, Rusyn Yar and Oleksandr-Kalynove.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 51 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor in the areas of Poltavka, Novoekonomichne, Myrolyubivka, Lysivka, Novoukrainka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Muravka and Oleksiyivka.
Novopavlivske, Prydniprovske, Orekhove and other directions
In the Novopavlivsk sector, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions 22 times in the vicinity of Piddubne, Myrne, Vilne Pole, Voskresenka and Zelene Pole.
Occupants did not conduct any offensive actions in the Huliaipil, Orikhiv and Prydniprovskyi sectors yesterday.
In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.
