        The arsenal of Ukraine’s Defense Forces has been expanded with the country’s first jet-powered drone interceptor, Alexa Spatium. It was developed to destroy small aerial, ground and surface targets in combat conditions.

        This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

        Alexa Spatium is a high-speed jet-powered unmanned aircraft designed primarily to intercept Russian Geran-3, Geran-4, Geran-5 and Shahed-131 attack drones.

        During testing, the interceptor confirmed the specifications declared by the manufacturer. It is equipped with a powerful turbojet engine, has a high flight ceiling, a significant combat radius and can operate from low to medium altitudes.

        The drone can operate using pre-set coordinates or in direct guidance mode. It can be fitted with high-explosive fragmentation, shaped-charge and thermobaric warheads, while television and infrared systems are used to search for targets.

        Alexa Spatium measures about 1.5 by 1.7 metres. It can be launched from a mobile catapult within several minutes, while the entire system can fit into a pickup truck.

        The interceptor is made of lightweight and durable composite material, allowing it to perform sharp manoeuvres without losing control. If the drone does not complete its mission, it can return to the launch site and be used again.

        Among the key advantages of Alexa Spatium, the Defense Ministry listed:

        • rapid response — the jet-powered platform enables quick deployment of the system and execution of the mission;
        • resistance to difficult operating conditions;
        • minimal requirements for preparing a launch position;
        • process automation;
        • high mobility — the system fits into a pickup truck;
        • modular design.

        Since the beginning of 2026, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has codified and approved 413 unmanned aerial systems for use by the Defense Forces. Almost all of them are Ukrainian-made.
