        Ukraine has carried out eight stages of a major prisoner exchange, resulting in the return of hundreds of its citizens. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

        “Since early June, hundreds of our people have come home. Our young people, the defenders of Mariupol, those who held the line in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions. The wounded, the seriously ill. Those considered missing in action. Most of them had been in captivity since 2022,” he said.

        The president stressed that those returned include both military personnel and civilians.

        “This is the result of the efforts of a large Ukrainian team. We will continue and work until we bring back everyone, without exception,” Zelensky emphasized.
