As a result of repatriation measures, the bodies of 1,200 people killed in the war have been returned to Ukraine. According to the Russian side, the bodies belong to Ukrainian citizens, including military personnel.

This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

The repatriation took place in accordance with the agreements reached in Istanbul. Next up is the examination and identification of the repatriated bodies.

The personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are responsible for transporting the repatriated bodies to specialized institutions, organizing the transfer of the deceased to law enforcement representatives in the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, and conducting forensic medical examinations in the Ministry of Health system.
