President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced a significant increase in domestic drone production during his address on April 7 following a Staff meeting.

According to the President, Ukraine is scaling up manufacturing across the entire range of unmanned systems—from basic quadcopters to long-range strike drones. Special emphasis is being placed on fiber-optic controlled systems: since the beginning of the year, more than 20 new models have been certified, and 11 Ukrainian companies have already begun production.

“Our goal is to reach the highest possible scale of production and supply of these drones. I’ve instructed that contracts be signed to the maximum extent,” Zelenskiy stated.

He also noted positive progress regarding deep-strike capabilities, although he did not disclose exact numbers. Ukraine’s Defence Forces are expected to receive all necessary capabilities for such operations in 2025.
