Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in Ireland, where he will take part in the ceremony marking the start of the country’s presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Zelensky announced this on social media.
During the visit, the president will also meet with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin and European Council President António Costa.
Zelensky stressed that Ukraine proves every day that it deserves to be an equal part of the common European home.
According to him, Kyiv expects that during Ireland’s presidency of the Council of the EU, tangible progress will be made on Ukraine’s path toward EU membership and that all negotiation clusters will be opened.
