        Ukraine and the Council of Europe will sign an agreement to establish a Special Tribunal for Russia’s crime of aggression against Ukraine. The signing is scheduled for Wednesday, June 25.

        This was announced by Yevheniia Kravchuk, a member of the Verkhovna Rada’s permanent delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

        The agreement on the establishment of a special tribunal for Russia’s crime of aggression against Ukraine will be signed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Council of Europe Secretary General Alain Berse.

        According to Yevhenia Kravchuk, today, June 24, at an extraordinary meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset will be authorized to sign the agreement on behalf of the Council.

        “Tomorrow is truly a historic event. What seemed like just a dream of justice will soon become a reality. Ukraine, together with the Council of Europe, will sign an agreement that will bring Russia closer to accountability,” Kravchuk wrote.

        The signing of the document will take place during the summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, which runs from June 23 to 27. On the same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will officially visit the Council of Europe for the first time.
