The U.S. and Iran held “very good and productive” talks on a comprehensive resolution to the conflict in the Middle East. Against this backdrop, U.S. President Donald Trump ordered a five-day delay in strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure.
Donald Trump wrote about this on Truth Social.
According to him, over the past two days, “deep, detailed, and constructive talks” have taken place between the U.S. and Iran, which will continue.
“Given the nature and tone of these deep, detailed, and constructive conversations, which will continue throughout the week, I have instructed the Department of Defense to postpone any military strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five-day period,” Trump wrote.
The decision depends on the continued success of the meetings and discussions.
Trump emphasized that the parties are discussing a “complete and final resolution” of hostilities in the region.
