Trump welcomed the ruling as a “huge victory” and said it would allow his administration to resume pursuing several policies that had previously been blocked. Among them, he specifically named:
- Ending birthright citizenship,
- Cutting funding for so-called “sanctuary cities” that protect undocumented immigrants,
- Freezing refugee resettlement programs,
- Cutting “unnecessary spending,”
- Banning federal funding for gender reassignment surgeries.
“This ruling covers a huge number of issues. It’s truly a victory for the entire country,” Trump declared.
He thanked the Supreme Court for the decision, saying the country should be proud of such a ruling.
On Ukraine
Answering questions from reporters, Trump said he hopes for progress in negotiations to resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He did not provide details but stressed the importance of finding a solution.
On Iran
Trump delivered sharp comments about Iran’s nuclear program, saying the US could demand that Tehran not only stop uranium enrichment but also hand over all existing stockpiles.
He added:
“I wouldn’t hesitate to strike Iran again if it turns out they have uranium enriched to a level sufficient to build a bomb.”
On Tariffs
Trump did not rule out extending a pause on imposing new import tariffs after July 9. He said he would “prefer” to shorten the time needed to sign agreements but is prepared to give negotiators more time if needed.

During the press conference, one attendee shouted “Trump-2028,” referencing the next presidential election. Trump laughed and said he liked the man, joking that he was “playing for the cameras.”
