Over the past year, the front line in Ukraine has increased by 200 kilometres and now stands at around 1,200 kilometres. This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskiy, during a meeting with journalists, according to “Ukrinform”.

‘Over the past year, the length of the front line has increased by 200 kilometres and now stands at around 1,200 kilometres,’ he said.

According to Syrskiy, Russia is preparing for a protracted war of attrition — this is its main strategy. In particular, last year, the Russian Federation recruited about 440,000 contract soldiers who went to war for monetary rewards and bonuses.

In addition, Syrskiy emphasised that the enemy has a strategic reserve: 13 divisions, a number of regiments and brigades with a total strength of 121,000 personnel.

‘They want to pressure us with their numbers — human resources — to wear us down,’ he added.
