Elina Svitolina recorded her 20th singles victory for Ukraine in the Billie Jean King Cup, extending her own national record. The Ukrainian secured the milestone win in the semifinal against Italy, defeating Jasmine Paolini 6:2, 6:2.

Svitolina’s victory gave Ukraine the decisive second point in the tie against Italy. The Ukrainian team reached the final of the world team championship for the first time in its history.
Svitolina’s current singles record in the Billie Jean King Cup stands at 20 wins and 11 losses.
The Ukrainian is the national team’s all-time record holder for the most singles victories. Olena Tatarkova is second, having finished her appearances in the tournament with a record of 17 wins and 7 losses.
Next on the list are Alona Bondarenko with 15 victories, Lesia Tsurenko with 13, while Kateryna Volodko and Marta Kostyuk have 11 wins each.
Svitolina made her debut for the Ukrainian national team in 2012 at the age of 18. In Kharkiv, she faced Serena Williams and lost 2:6, 1:6.
Svitolina earned her first victory for Ukraine in April 2013 in a match against Eugenie Bouchard. The Ukrainian lost the opening set but managed to turn the match around and won 6:7(8), 6:3, 6:2.
Svitolina recorded her 10th victory in the team competition in 2017 in Stuttgart, where she defeated former world No. 1 Angelique Kerber 6:4, 6:2.
In 2025, the Ukrainian first drew level with previous record holder Olena Tatarkova by earning her 17th victory in a match against Jil Teichmann, and then moved into sole possession of first place after defeating Paula Badosa in the Billie Jean King Cup Finals quarterfinal.
In the 2026 season, Svitolina added two more victories. In the qualifying tie against Poland, she defeated Katarzyna Kawa 6:2, 6:1 in 52 minutes, and in the Finals semifinal she beat Paolini 6:2, 6:2.
Between those matches, the Ukrainian lost to Greet Minnen in the quarterfinal tie against Belgium.
