Destroyed streets, burned cars and damaged churches: what Kupiansk looks like now

The 101st Separate Brigade for the Protection of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, named after Colonel General Henadii Vorobiov, has released drone footage showing the current state of Kupiansk in Kharkiv region.

The footage shows the aftermath of Russian shelling: destroyed homes, devastated neighborhoods, burned-out cars and damaged urban infrastructure.

The brigade said the video is “not just drone footage,” but evidence of what Russia’s so-called “peace” really looks like.

“A haunting but necessary truth that the entire civilized world must see,” the statement said.

The soldiers recalled that not long ago Kupiansk was a peaceful city with green parks, flowerbeds and streets filled with children’s laughter. Now Russian attacks have changed its face.

“Today, its face is different: shattered homes, devastated neighborhoods, burned cars. Even churches were not spared by the ‘believing’ enemy,” the brigade said.

At the same time, the 101st Brigade stressed that Kupiansk is not only about ruins, but above all about Ukrainian defenders who continue to hold the city.

The statement says that amid the rubble, the soldiers preserve faith, strength of spirit and determination to give the occupiers no chance.

“And as long as titans hold here, Kupiansk is alive. This is not the end. This is the beginning of retribution,” the troops said.

Kupiansk remains one of the hottest areas in Kharkiv region. Russian forces regularly shell the city and nearby settlements as they try to pressure Ukraine’s defense.
