        Russians continue ‘ceasefire’: 80 combat clashes since dawn — General Staff

        As of 16:00 on 9 May, Ukrainian soldiers continue to repel massive attacks by Russian occupiers. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a summary of the situation on the front line.

        A total of 80 combat clashes have been recorded since the beginning of the day. The enemy is actively using aviation and artillery. Border settlements in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions have come under attack from Russian territory. In particular, Arkhipivka, Mykolaivka, Marchykhina Buda, Bila Bereza, Ulanove, Baranivka, and Kucheriwka were hit. The occupiers dropped guided bombs on Boyaro-Lezhachi and Doroshivka.

        Two combat clashes continue near Vovchansk in the Kharkiv direction. In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked nine times in the areas of Lypove, Hrekivka, Novyi Mir, and Zelenaya Dolyna, with one clash still ongoing.

        In the Kramatorsk direction, defence forces repelled three attacks near Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, and Kurdyumivka. Four more battles are still ongoing.

        The fiercest battles are taking place in the Toretsk, Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka directions. Near Toretsk and adjacent settlements, the enemy launched 10 assaults, with five battles still ongoing. In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy has already carried out 18 attacks, 13 of which were repelled, and five are still in the active phase. In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy attempted to break through the defences 18 times — 11 battles are ongoing.

        In the Orikhiv direction, our units repelled two enemy assaults near Malyi Shcherbakiv and Shcherbakiv. In the Dnipro direction, three battles are ongoing after four attempts by the enemy to advance.

        No active offensive actions by the aggressor have been recorded in the Kupiansk, Siversk and Huliaipole directions. In the Kursk direction, three attacks were repelled, and four battles are still ongoing.

        Since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have carried out five air strikes and dropped nine guided bombs, as well as 153 artillery strikes. The situation in the rest of the directions has not changed significantly.
