On the night of July 3, starting at 9:30 p.m. on July 2, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using 52 strike drones, including Shahed-type UAVs and various decoy drones. The drones came from the directions of Orel, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.
As of 8:00 a.m., Ukrainian air defense forces had destroyed 40 enemy Shahed drones and other types of UAVs over the eastern and southern regions of the country. Of these, 22 were downed by direct fire, while another 18 were jammed or disabled by electronic warfare systems.
Confirmed drone strikes occurred at seven locations, and debris from downed drones fell in at least one additional area.
