        Russia struck Kyiv, Dnipro and Kharkiv: 13 killed and more than 100 injured

        On June 2, 13 people were killed and more than 100 were injured as a result of a massive combined Russian attack on Ukraine. Kyiv, Dnipro and Kharkiv suffered the most extensive destruction.

        This was reported by Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.

        In Kyiv, four people were killed, while more than 60 residents sought medical assistance. Among the injured is a three-year-old child with shrapnel wounds.

        Rescuers worked at 29 locations across nearly all districts of the city. Most fires have been extinguished, while operations continue at six locations in five districts.

        Residential buildings, a car dealership, a municipal enterprise, an academy, utility buildings, a gas station and other civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged. A fire also broke out at the territory of an Interior Ministry service center.

        In Dnipro, nine people were killed, including a child. Another 35 residents were injured. There is also information about six people reported missing.

        Among those killed in Dnipro was Anton Yarmolenko, deputy head of a fire and rescue unit and a major of the civil protection service. He was killed while responding to an emergency call.

        In Kamianske, a rescuer and two civilians were injured.

        In Kharkiv, residential buildings and a food production enterprise were damaged as a result of the attack. More than ten people were injured.

        Damage to civilian infrastructure was also recorded in Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv and Zaporizhzhia regions.

        In Kyiv region, rescuers extinguished fires in residential buildings, at a postal terminal and among vehicles.
