Russian forces struck a building belonging to Kyivstar during a new series of attacks on Kyiv. Gas stations in the capital were also hit during the day, leaving people dead and injured.
This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to him, Russia is increasingly using jet-powered Shahed drones and has been deliberately targeting sites in Kyiv throughout the day.
Zelenskyy separately reported a strike on a building belonging to Kyivstar. He did not provide further details about the consequences of the attack on the telecom operator’s facility.
Russian drones also targeted gas stations in the capital. Two people were killed and nine others were injured in those strikes.
Among the injured was a rescuer who was wounded in a follow-up strike.
The president said the Russian attacks had been continuing since the night. Strikes were also recorded in the Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Donetsk, Kherson, Kharkiv and Mykolaiv regions.
Zelenskyy called for stronger protection of Ukraine’s airspace and for counter-drone capabilities to be scaled up.
