        Today, September 18, a new stage of repatriation measures took place – 1,000 bodies were returned to Ukraine, which, according to the Russian side, belong to Ukrainian servicemen.

        This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

        Investigators, together with expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will soon conduct examinations and identification of the repatriated bodies.

        The transportation of the repatriated fallen defenders to designated state specialized institutions, the organization of the transfer of the deceased to representatives of law enforcement agencies in the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, and forensic medical examination in the Ministry of Health system will be carried out by personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

        “Investigators from law enforcement agencies, together with expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will establish the identities of the deceased as soon as possible,” the statement said.
