Russian forces launched a series of large-scale overnight strikes on railway facilities in the Kharkiv, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi and Ternopil regions. No one was injured, but the attacks caused significant material damage and disrupted train traffic and power supplies on some routes.

This was reported by Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, Chairman of the Board of Ukrainian Railways, Ukrzaliznytsia.

According to him, Russian forces are targeting locomotive and railcar depots, repair facilities, railway stations and rolling stock.

During the overnight attack, energy infrastructure was damaged in several areas. Railway crews immediately began restoration work.

Damage and debris obstructed traffic on key routes. Alternative routes were organized to keep trains moving.

All employees received advance warnings and were evacuated, so the night passed without injuries or fatalities.

“The material losses are significant. We have been working on restoration since the morning,” Pertsovskyi said.

Operations at Kyiv’s main railway hub were also temporarily suspended due to the ballistic missile threat. Trains that had been held for safety reasons began departing one after another in the morning.
