Pilots of the 414th Separate Brigade “Birds of Magyar” destroyed a heavy Russian Forpost-R strike and reconnaissance drone over Russia’s Kursk region. The UAV, capable of carrying KAB-20 guided aerial bombs, was shot down by a Ukrainian Chaklun-KM interceptor at an altitude of 4,300 metres.

This was reported by Commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces Robert Brovdi.

The Russian drone was detected and destroyed on July 27, 2026, by pilots of the 7th Topot Battalion of the 414th Separate Brigade “Birds of Magyar.”

According to Brovdi, the Forpost-R is a heavy and expensive strike and reconnaissance UAV capable of carrying laser-guided munitions.

The destroyed aircraft became the sixth confirmed Forpost shot down since the beginning of the full-scale war. It was the second such drone destroyed by the 414th Brigade, after its first success in April 2025.

Brovdi also said that since the Unmanned Systems Forces grouping was established on June 11, 2025, its units had hit or destroyed 45,067 enemy strike and reconnaissance drones, as well as 9,186 Shahed- and Gerbera-type drones.

Among the aircraft hit, the Forpost-R was only the second.
