President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Norway has delivered more than ten NASAMS air defence systems to Ukraine and continues to supply them. He stressed that Oslo provided missiles for NASAMS even when its own domestic stockpiles were insufficient.

Zelenskyy made the remarks in an interview with NRK News.

According to him, Norwegian NASAMS systems have significantly helped Ukraine. He said he would not disclose the exact number of systems received, but noted that Ukraine has more than ten and continues to receive them.

The president added that Ukraine received Norwegian-made missiles for NASAMS, although Norway’s internal stockpiles were not enough. He said Oslo worked with other countries at the political level to secure additional missiles, and that this was very important.

At the same time, Ukraine worked on joint production and on IRIS-T systems. Zelenskyy noted that when one country stepped up, other allies, including Norway, also joined in.

This winter, he said, Norway also helped Ukraine with gas after Russian strikes on the energy sector, including gas infrastructure.

Zelenskyy подчеркнул, что the Norwegian people and all parties in parliament support these decisions. He added that the unity of the Norwegian parliament regarding Ukraine is extremely important and highly appreciated.

He also highlighted cooperation on drones and noted that Norway is the second-largest contributor to PURL, stressing that this support is greatly valued in Ukraine.
